Kool Kidz STEM (2024 – Part 2)

Ten eligible TANF youth (1&2 or 3&4) who are currently enrolled in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will be invited to sign-up for the Thermal FPS Youth Department’s Kool Kidz STEM: 2024 – Part 2 program. The event will be held once a month on Thursdays, April 11; May 9; and June 13, 2024 from 3:30pm to 5pm at the Thermal TANF Classroom (66-725 Martinez Rd., Thermal, CA. 92274). Transportation will be offered and will need to be requested 3 days prior to event. 

Youth participants will learn S.T.E.M. activities ranging from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Event Coordinator will facilitate each lesson utilizing S.T.E.M. curriculum that is kid friendly and allows participants to understand. With each lesson, Youth will also work in groups to complete various S.T.E.M. activities. This will allow Youth to practice team building skills such as communication, brain-storming, collaboration, and improve overall confidence in S.T.E.M. subjects. The event will apply TMTANF Academic standards by promoting Success in Education through Science S.T.E.M. subjects.
