2025-2026 Homework Club

January 21 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The Homework Club seeks to provide participants the opportunity to refine their literacy skills through educational activities. The core subjects that the program will focus on is Reading, Writing and Math. Academic Standards that promote Success in Education, will also be emphasized, which include consistent school attendance, completing school work, and increasing overall GPA. Lessons in Life Skills such as Goal Setting, Responsibility, Accountability, Organization, Time Management, Communication and Perseverance, will be emphasized. Last, the Homework Club will provide participants the opportunity to complete any unfinished homework assignments. 

 

Youth Participants with a GPA below a 2.0 will be given priority during the sign-up period. Students that are currently on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 Plan, Behavior Plan, or who have significant behavior issues will be given one on one assistance. Students will be expected to bring homework to Homework Club, but if participants do not provide their own homework, TANF staff will provide those students with an alternative, academically related activity, such as worksheets, reading materials, math practice worksheets, etc. In addition, an independent contractor tutor will provide tutoring services for middle and high school students who have been identified needing additional academic support. Ratio will be 6:1 for tutoring services.

 

Torres Martinez Tribal TANF Classroom:

Wednesdays (4:30pm to 6:30pm): KN to 12th Grade

Refreshments will be provided for Youth participating on-site.

Transportation may be provided when requested.
