College and Career Readiness Series | Part 2

This is part 2 or a 4 part series that will focus on preparing students for College and Career Readiness. This will be accomplished by students participating in activities that help them identify what profession they would like to pursue and how to achieve that goal. In this second part of the series, Youth will learn important dates related to the FAFSA Application. This includes learning what is required to complete the application and when they will be able to begin to apply online. In addition to learning about the FAFSA application, students will also learn of various scholarship opportunities and deadlines when to apply. This series will also educate Youth about the UC, CSU and Community College application process. This includes when applications will open for students to begin to apply and when the deadlines are for each system. The last topic in this series will help students create their Statement of Purpose. This will help students begin to draft their personal career goals; why they are choosing a specific program and how that program will assist them reach their overall goals.
