Indigenous Day at the Aquarium

15 eligible TANF Youth (1&2 or 3&4) who are currently 7 to 17 yrs of age will be invited to Join Thermal Site FPS Staff at Birch Aquarium at Scripps for Indigenous Day at the Aquarium. On November 23h, 2024 7:00am to 5:00pm at Birch Aquarium at Scripps – 2300 Expedition Way Scripps Institute, La Jolla, CA 92037. Refreshments will be provided to youth participants by FPS Staff throughout the day. Workshop sessions will include: teaching and feeding animals, Storytelling, Bird songs, and Tule boat crating, etc. This Indigenous Youth event will be facilitated by the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. This visit is to provide the opportunity for our Native youth to participate in Cultural Activities and Interactive Exhibits by the Aquarium whose mission is to protecting our Oceans, and to provide information for furthering Higher Education. Transportation will be provided, Pickups will begin at 7am. At the end Youth will fill out evaluations before FPS Staff Depart. Will return by 5pm.
