Summer Slide Reset!!

100 eligible Thermal TANF Youth Participants (Pre-K to 12th Grade) will be invited to the Summer Slide Reset event. The event will be from June 23 to 26, 2025. The event will be offered via Zoom only. In order to better accommodate all Youth participants, sessions will be divided into two groups, Elementary (Pre-K to 5th Grade) and Middle / High School (6th to 12th Grade). In addition, sessions will be offered in the morning and afternoon for both groups.
Elementary: 10am or 5pm
Middle/High School: 11am or 6pm
The Summer Slide Reset event will emphasize literacy and arithmetic for Elementary students. This will be accomplished by providing educational activities and resources that will help reinforce what Elementary students learned the previous school year. Elementary students will learn the importance of continuing to read throughout the summer and practice arithmetic.
For Middle and High School students, the Summer Slide Reset will emphasize student development. Student development will encompass academic, social/emotional and physical activity to support their overall well-being.
Youth will be eligible to earn a $10.00 Program Incentive (Amazon Gift Card) per session for a total of $40.00. Program Incentives will be awarded to youth participants based on the number of sessions they attend (one session per day / morning or afternoon session), and not to exceed 4 sessions. Program Incentive may go towards the purchase of school supplies for the upcoming school year. This will allow Youth the opportunity to purchase school supplies that they prefer to purchase.
