San Diego Zoo Experience

Ten eligible TMTT Youth (1&2 or 3&4) who are between the ages of 6 to 11 years olf. will be invited to sign-up for the Thermal FPS Youth Department’s San Diego Zoo Experience. The event will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10am to 3pm at San Diego Zoo, located at 2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA. 92101. Departure time will begin at 6am and return time will be 8:30pm. Sign-ups will be on a first come, first serve basis.
The event will offer Youth participants the opportunity to learn about Wildlife conservation at San Diego Zoo exhibitions and presentations. Such presentations include Habitat Heroes where youth participants will make observations between both plant and animals to discover patterns as they compare various wildlife habitats. Exhibits youth participants will also be able to learn from the Botanical Gardens such as Orchid Odyssey, Australian Outback, Elephant Odyssey Trees and African Rocks. Last, youth participants will be able to meet Wildlife Care Specialists at the Wildlife Wonders. Here the Wildlife Ambassadors will be able to help educate youth participants on the importance of wildlife conservation from the Amazons to the wildlife cared for at the San Diego Zoo. The event will apply TMTANF Academic standards by promoting Success in Education through science.
