Rescheduled Back to School Kickoff 2024

The Back to School Kickoff Event has been rescheduled for July 29th to August 1st, 2024 from 6pm to 7pm daily. The event will be offered to the first 100 eligible Thermal TANF Youth Participants (Pre-K to 12th Grade). The event will be offered via Zoom only. Zoom Link information will be sent out to families whose children sign up for the event.

The Back to School Kickoff 2024 event will emphasize the importance of committing to academic success for the upcoming school year. In addition, the event will also focus on educating Youth about committing to their Academic Development; YEGC Support; and Educational Incentives. In addition, Youth will learn about choosing the best school supplies for school and will be provided with a recommended school supply list. This is because Youth Participants who attend each session will be able to earn $10 Program Incentive per session for a total of $40.00. Program Incentives will be awarded to youth participants based on the number of sessions they attend, and not to exceed 4 sessions. Program Incentive may go towards the purchase of school supplies. This will allow Youth the opportunity to purchase school supplies that they prefer to purchase. In addition, JanSport Backpacks will be provided to Youth participants who attended the event.
