College Pathways

Twenty eligible youth (1&2 or 3&4) who are currently enrolled in 6th to 12th Grade will be invited to participate in Thermal FPS Youth Department’s College Pathway series. The multi-session event will only be offered via Zoom platform and will be held on Tuesday(s): February 25; March 25; April 29; and May 20, 2025. For each session Youth participants attend, they will receive a $10.00 Incentive; with the opportunity to earn a $40.00 Gift Card to Amazon.

The College Pathway series will educate Youth on introductory collegiate concepts to help students establish a foundation for Higher Education planning. This includes using various activities (E.G. Icebreakers, Group discussions, and assignments) to help build students’ understanding of College vocabulary. In addition, Event coordinator will facilitate workshop presentation that will focus on teaching participants the 1) Difference between Community College and University, 2) Learn the cost of attending Community College vs. attending a University, 3) Learn the A thru G Requirements that either a Community College or University requires in order to apply, and Learn about Scholarship opportunities available for both Community Colleges and Universities.
