California Science Center Day
Ten eligible youth (1&2 or 3&4) who are currently enrolled in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will be invited to attend Thermal FPS Youth Department’s California Science Center Day. The event will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10am to 3pm at the California Science Center located at 700 Exposition Park Drive, Los Angeles, CA. 90037. Departure time will begin at 6am and return time will be 7pm. Sign-ups will be on a first come, first serve basis.
The event will offer Youth participants the opportunity to interact through STEM exhibitions and presentations. Such exhibitions include Anthropology (A Mayan Exhibit that will educate youth about the history behind the Indigenous People of Central America.), Astronomy (Deep Sky Exhibit), Marine Biology (Blue Whales Exhibit), Animal Life, Fire! Science and Safety, Ecosystems, and Air & Space. The event will apply TMTANF Academic standards by promoting Success in Education through Science STEM subjects.
