Back to School Kickoff 2024: Middle & High School

50 eligible Thermal TANF Youth Participants (6th to 12th Grade) will be invited to the Back to School Kickoff 2024 event. The event will be offered In-Person on the following dates and time. Transportation assistance will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Transportation will need to be requested 3 days prior to start of event.

The Back to School Kickoff 2024 event will emphasize the importance of committing to academic success for the upcoming school year. In addition, the event will also focus on educating Youth about committing to their Academic Development; YEGC Support; and Educational Incentives. In addition, Youth will learn about choosing the best school supplies for school and will be provided with a recommended school supply list. This is because Youth Participants who attend each session will be able to earn $10 Program Incentive per session for a total of $40.00. Program Incentives will be awarded to youth participants based on the number of sessions they attend, and not to exceed 4 sessions. Program Incentive may go towards the purchase of school supplies. This will allow Youth the opportunity to purchase school supplies that they prefer to purchase. In addition, JanSport Backpacks will be provided to Youth participants who attended the event.
