5 eligible TANF Youth (1 & 2 or 3 & 4) who are currently 6 to 10yrs of age will be invited to Join Thermal Site FPS Staff on March 20th,26th. April 15th. May 7th, 2025 – 4pm to 5pm Via Zoom at Thermal Site. Supplies will be provided to youth participants by FPS staff before sessions Through active participation, Communication/ Dialoguing, teamwork, and refining motor skills activity, kids have the opportunity to enhance life skills, develop self-confidence, build character, and stress reduction. It’s these formative experiences that help shape future generations’ empathy and social understanding. The benefits of Reading, Crafting, Dialoguing and Reflection in youth development can positively impact physical health, mental and emotional health, academic performance, and social skills.
Youth will be given a small notepad to write about the class they had and put down their thoughts or feelings toward each session. We will discuss how the crafts made and show and tell portions before and at the conclusion.
Session 1) March 20th, 2025 – introduction to event/ Scavenger hunt in the Youth participants over Zoom – Youth will be given notepads and pens.
Session 2) March 26th, 2025 – “You are my Pumpkin” book along with supplies for cutting, crafting and gluing will be delivered to youth participants home before Zoom session. – Terms of affection
Session 3) April 15th, 2025 –” Hello Crabby!” Book and coloring supplies will be delivered to youth participants home before Zoom session. Grumpy people or Behavior.
Session 4) May 7th 2025 – “Dinosaurs Bones” book will be delivered along with clay supplies to youth participants home before Zoom session. Identifying themselves.
Fps staff will coordinate with Transportation Department for delivery times and address information.
