Under the direction of the Director-Facilities and Grounds Maintenance, organize and direct custodial services to assure assigned buildings and facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, orderly and secure condition; supervise, develop, implement and inspect custodial projects and daily activities; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Successful candidate must have knowledge of proper methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in modern custodial work; modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, walls and fixtures; requirements of maintaining buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; appropriate safety precautions and procedures; record-keeping techniques; proper lifting techniques. Must have the ability to interpret, apply and explain laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; supervise the cleaning of offices, lounges, hallways, lobbies, rooms, corridors and other facilities; estimate labor, material and equipment requirements for projects and activities; observe health and safety regulations; utilize and maintain a variety of custodial equipment; plan and organize work; meet schedules and time lines; work independently with little direction; operate a computer and assigned software; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; prepare and maintain various records and reports related to assigned activities; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years increasingly responsible custodial experience including one year in a lead capacity.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Continuously throughout employment, must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license and maintain insurability under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy. This position has duties and responsibilities that require regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to the background investigative process to comply with PL 101-630.
All positions require applicant be at least 18 years of age. Those selected for a position are subject to a background investigation, drug screening and possible participation in the DMV Pull Program. References will be checked.
