Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, analyze reports and develop programs to maintain compliance with applicable Tribal water quality standards; develop quality assurance plans and standard operating procedures; respond to public complaints concerning water quality and service lines; collect and transport water samples for analysis. Successful candidate must have knowledge of water system standards, requirements and procedures; policies and objectives of assigned programs and activities; technical aspects of field of specialty; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; health and safety regulations; record-keeping and report preparation techniques. Must have the ability to perform a variety of duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of water pumps and related service lines; inspect pumps and service lines for leaks and malfunctions; investigate public complaints and troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems and malfunctions; operate and maintain specialized hand and power tools and equipment; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; observe health and safety regulations; maintain records related to work performed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: college-level coursework in environmental science or related field, and one year experience in water quality analysis and control working in an accredited private industry or certified laboratory.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
This position is required to drive and therefore requires possession of a valid California Class C Driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the Tribe's auto insurance policy throughout employment.
All positions require applicant be at least 18 years of age. Those selected for a position are subject to a background investigation, drug screening and possible participation in the DMV Pull Program. References will be checked.
