Under the direction of the Information Technology Director, perform highly responsible and confidential secretarial and administrative assistant duties to relieve the Director of a variety of administrative details; monitor and maintain proper inventory levels of technology supplies and equipment; process, evaluate, and respond to staff equipment requests; oversee and maintain Tribal cell phone accounts; plan, coordinate and organize office activities and flow of communications and information for the Director of Information Technology. Successful candidate must have knowledge of Principles, methods and procedures of operating computers and peripheral equipment; Functions and secretarial operations of an administrative office; Inventory practices and procedures; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; Business letter and report writing, editing, and proofreading; Record-keeping and filing techniques; Methods of collecting and organization; Telephone techniques and etiquette; Modern office practices, procedures and equipment; Basic arithmetic. Must have ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; Compose correspondence and written materials independently or from oral instructions; Perform a variety of secretarial duties related to assigned technology functions. Understand and resolve issues, complaints or problems; Maintain variety of complex files and records; organize complex material in report form; Respond to user technology requests and coordinate work orders Operate standard office equipment including a computer and assigned software. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; Complete work independently with little direction and many interruptions; Plan, prioritize, and organize work; meet schedules and timelines; Make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy; Work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and must always maintain cultural sensitivity.

This position requires driving in performance of duties and therefore requires possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy throughout employment

Education and Experience Requirements: Associate’s degree and five (5) years administrative experience; OR Thirty (30) units of college level coursework and six (6) years administrative experience; OR Any combination of experience equivalent to the above.
