Position Description:

Under the direction of a Manager or Director, promote and maintain a tradition of strong two parent families by providing drug and alcohol free alternative recreational activities; provide pre-marital counseling to prospective couples; conduct interviews and meetings with clients to discuss concerns, possibilities and actions necessary to accomplish goals. Successful Candidate must have knowledge of  Native American Culture; Oral and written communication skills: supervision and training: Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures: Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Operation of a computer and assigned software. Must have ability to Develop and implement meaningful classes, events, activities, and workshops: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures: Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others: Operate a computer and assigned office equipment: Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action: Meet schedules and time lines. Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports: Work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and must always maintain cultural sensitivity. This position has duties and responsibilities that require regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to the background investigative process to comply with PL 101-630. This position requires driving in performance of duties and therefore requires possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy throughout employment.  Education and/or Experience Requirements: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years increasingly responsible clerical or related experience.
