Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of clerical duties in support of an assigned program; serve as a liaison and coordinate program communications, correspondence and information; compile information and prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports and files. Successful candidate must have knowledge of terminology, practices and procedures of the assigned office. Prepare type and distribute a variety of materials such as brochures, inter-office communications, forms, flyers, letters, notices, reports, advertisements and other materials; revise, edit, format and proofread a variety of documents and information. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Telephone techniques and etiquette: Basic math. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary: Operation of a computer and assigned software: Record-keeping techniques. Conduct a variety of departmentally specific functions as requested to address managerial and departmental needs. Must have ability to monitor inventory levels of office and program supplies; receive and maintain appropriate levels of inventory as required. Attend and participate in various meetings, training, workshops and orientations as assigned. Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of an assigned program. Learn, interpret, apply and explain laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Meet schedules and time lines. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and must always maintain cultural sensitivity.

This position requires driving in performance of duties and therefore requires possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy throughout employment. This position has duties and responsibilities that require regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to the background investigative process to comply with PL 101-630.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of clerical or secretarial experience involving frequent public contact.


All positions require applicant be at least 18 years of age.  Those selected for a position are subject to a background investigation, drug screening and possible participation in the DMV Pull Program. References will be checked.
