Salary Range: $35.13 - $44.75/hr
This position is responsible for overseeing and directing the region in attaining divisional financial and operational goals, setting standards for operations, developing, articulating and communicating regional goals, expectations and objectives, and supporting all levels and providing appropriate tools to ensure success. Coordinates, supervises and supports the TANF program and employees in Direct Services, Supportive Services and Operations. Person applying for the position must have experience working with existing welfare reform policies, programs and their associated systems, management standards and procedures. Must possess skill in assessments, formulation of result oriented action plans, confrontational and motivational techniques, problem solving and identification. Must have experience in group counseling and public presentation skills. Must have awareness of current Indian issues with regard to employment, training, welfare reform, social services. Knowledge of American Indian culture and experience working with American Indian communities. Must understand TANF eligibility and program compliance requirements. Must possess good oral and written communication skills and be able to correspond, in person or by phone, with Tribal members, various tribal committees, general council, and members of public, state and federal agencies. Must possess a valid California driver’s license and be eligible for authorization to operate agency owned vehicles as required by agency’s insurance carrier.
Education and/or Experience requirements: BA/BS in public/business administration and 5+ years experience in TANF program or similar federally funded program or
Some college and ten (10) + years experience.
